Data from the 1921 census of England now added, as has the 1950 US census. The 1939 Register data has been extended to include relationships.
About Flinders - Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Huntingdonshire and beyond
May 2016: Data from the 1939 register (compiled at the start of WW2) has added many birth dates for those living that year if they were born before 1916. Data for some born 1916 or later is also included if they died prior to 1991.

Copy and paste this link into your web browser for other Flinders data including census indexes for the UK 1841 - 1921, Canada 1911 - 1921, and the USA 1860 - 1950. See www.flinders.nz

Many of the births are not shown as the maiden surname of the mother is the same as that for the child (Flinders) on the birth index, hence the author can't determine which child belongs to which set of parents.

This web site is the result of research done by the author since 1992.

It also includes the years of research, mainly for the period pre 1881, done by the late Phyllis Flinders Kelsey of Utah. Phyllis was a great friend and she gave me a lot of inspiration when it came to family history matters.

The data covers the descendants of Thomas Flinders/Flinthurst who likely came from Great Gransden and who married Ellen in Potton, Bedfordshire. As to if Thomas was related to the other Flinders families, of Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, to the north, has yet to be established.

Corrections and additions are always welcome. Please note that there is an issue with the date format here, with some dates that are approximate showing as actual.

There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
